1. How payments work
Sinviva helps brands and creators find each other, agree on terms, sign an agreement, share drafts, and track every deal. The money itself goes directly from the brand to the creator, using the method you both agreed on. Sinviva never handles, holds, or guarantees it, and isn't a party to your agreement.
That means Sinviva can't refund payments, chase late payments, or settle disputes. What it can do is give you a signed agreement, a full record of the deal, and a way to report people who don't follow through.
2. The deal checklist
Agree on these four things in chat before anyone starts work. Sinviva asks you to set them before you sign.
- Price: the exact amount, or what's being gifted.
- Deliverables: what will be made, how many, and on which platforms.
- Deadline: when the draft and the final post are due.
- Payment terms: when and how the creator gets paid (see below).
Also agree on usage rights, meaning whether the brand can run the content as ads and for how long. That's set on each campaign and included in the agreement.
3. Payment terms explained
- 100% upfront: the brand pays everything before work starts. Safest for creators.
- 50% deposit, 50% on approval: a common middle ground. The brand pays half up front and half once the content is approved.
- Net 15 / Net 30: the brand pays the full amount within 15 or 30 days after the content is approved. Common for larger brands.
New to working with someone? Creators often ask for a deposit on a first deal. Brands can ask to see past work and reviews.
4. Safe ways to pay and get paid
- Use methods with a record: bank transfer (ACH), PayPal Business invoices, or invoices from tools like QuickBooks or Wave.
- Avoid cash, gift cards, crypto, and personal cash apps. They leave little record and are hard to dispute.
- Creators: send an invoice that lists the deal, the amount, and the payment terms. Keep a copy of the signed agreement (use Download PDF on the agreement).
- Watch for scams: be careful with anyone who overpays and asks for money back, asks you to pay to get a deal, or pushes you to move the conversation off Sinviva before agreeing on terms.
5. The steps of a deal
- Pitched: a creator applies, or a brand invites a creator or books a package.
- Negotiating: agree on the checklist in chat, then set the amount and payment terms.
- Contracted: both sides sign the agreement. The brand confirms the payment plan and sends any deposit or upfront payment.
- Draft review: the creator sends a draft, and the brand approves it or asks for changes.
- Content live: the creator posts and shares the link.
- Paid: the brand pays the creator directly, as agreed, and marks the deal paid. Then you can review each other.
6. Taxes
- Creators are responsible for reporting their income and paying their own taxes. Keep your invoices and payment confirmations.
- Brands are responsible for any tax forms they must issue to the creators they pay, such as a Form 1099 above the IRS threshold.
- This isn't tax advice. Talk with an accountant about your situation.
7. Labeling sponsored posts
Creators must clearly label paid or gifted content, for example with "#ad" or the platform's paid-partnership tool, as the U.S. FTC's Endorsement Guides require. Brands shouldn't ask creators to hide a partnership.
8. If something goes wrong
- Talk first. Most problems are misunderstandings. Message the other person on Sinviva so there's a record.
- Check the agreement. Your signed agreement has the price, deliverables, deadline, and payment terms you both agreed to.
- Report it. Use Report on the person's profile or Report a problem in the deal, or email hello@sinviva.com. We review reports and can warn, suspend, or remove accounts.
- Sinviva can't recover money or decide who's right in a dispute. For serious issues, the signed agreement and your records are what you'd use to pursue it yourself.
9. Ratings and reviews
After a deal is marked paid, the brand and the creator can each leave a 1 to 5 star review. Reviews appear on profiles, so reliable payers and creators stand out. Please keep reviews honest and about the deal itself.
